Fabrica is ranked among Europe's Top 100 Schools of Architecture and Design 2013 published as the supplement of the December issue of the well-known design magazine Domus. The publication is available both in printed and iPad version.

RIPPLEVID

RippleVid is the name of the first iPad app developed by Fabrica, the communication research centre of the Benetton Group.

RippleVid fragments time into a sequence of frozen moments, like a strip of cinematic celluloid which appears to move across the screen. The user is encouraged to move in order to animate the sequence.
The app is inspired by the interactive installation We are the time. We are the famous (2006) by Andy Cameron, David McDougall, Oriol Ferrer Mesià, Hans Raber.

JACK SCHULZE'S LECTURE AT FABRICA

Jack Schulze, a principal and co-founder at BERG (Interaction Design), held a lecture titled "Products, Media and immaterials". The lecture took place at Fabrica on 13 December 2012.

He obtained his MA in Interaction Design from the Royal College of Art in 2006, previously running an independent design studio for four years. Jack leads BERG new product development work both for clients and self-initiated work such as the Here & There map. He leads many media design consultancy projects, including previous engagements with Bonnier and the BBC among others.

LIVE WINDOWS FOR HUMAN RIGHTS DAY

A new member has joined the educational network of Live Windows: MHMK Berlin, Germany. Their first contributions are about Human Rights Day and will be shown in Milan and Barcelona on 8, 9 and 10 December.

The two videos produced by the school focus on th importance of basic human rights such as freedom of expression, education and personal dignty.

They are both endorsed by the United Nations Ragional Information Centre.

FABRICA PRESENTS 'TUTTI FRUTTI' AT DESIGN MIAMI / ART BASEL

At Design Miami / Art Basel, the international design fair held in Miami, 5-9 December, FABRICA presents Tutti Frutti, a new glass collection that celebrates Miami’s designer look, cosmopolitan atmosphere and vibrant lifestyle. The collection, conceived by Fabrica’s international team of designers, will make its world debut in United Colors of Benetton’s remodeled Miami store (670 Collins Avenue at 7th street) and at New York gallery owner Cristina Grajales’s booth inside the fair (n°24).
